Field Two Experts Program (Science and Mathematics Teachers in Cycle 1)
This two-year program, consisting of four training modules, targets Field Two teachers in schools in the Sultanate of Oman. It aims to enhance teachers’ understanding of the nature of mathematics and science, the topics included in the curriculum, student learning processes, inquiry-based teaching methods, problem-solving and communication in mathematics and science, project-based learning, and formative assessment strategies and their diverse application to achieve different objectives for developing student learning in mathematics and science.

Applicants wishing to enrol in the Institute’s strategic training programmes must meet the following requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
- Nominees must be members of the Ministry of Education's teaching staff.
- Applicants for the Mathematics Experts, Science Experts, Arabic Language Experts (Grades 1–4), Arabic Language Experts (Grades 5–12), English Language Experts, and Field Two Experts programmes must have at least three years' experience in their current position.
- Applicants for supervisory programmes must hold the relevant job title, or an official secondment decision, for one of the following: the Senior Teachers Programme (Senior Teacher, or secondment to that position); the Supervisory Experts Programme (Subject Supervisor or Senior Subject Supervisor, or secondment to either); or the School Leadership Programme (School Principal, Assistant School Principal, School Administration Supervisor, Senior School Administration Supervisor, School Performance Evaluation Supervisor, Senior School Performance Evaluation Supervisor, or secondment to one of these).
- Applicants for the Programme for New Teachers must be newly appointed teachers; enrolment is mandatory for all new appointees.
- An applicant's job title must match the target group specified for the relevant programme.
- Applicants may not be on full-time study leave for a Master's or Doctoral degree.
