Among the Institute’s strategic certified programmes is the Professional Practices Diploma for Educators, delivered through the New Teachers Programme. This one-year programme, structured around two training modules, is intended for newly appointed Omani teachers in government schools.
Its purpose is to give participants a firm grounding in theories of teaching and learning consistent with internationally recognised standards and best practice, while strengthening their professional competencies in instructional practice. The programme also encourages teachers to adopt contemporary educational practices that build the future skills of Omani learners in line with the National Framework. Beyond this, it works to sharpen participants’ reflective thinking so they can assess and refine their own teaching, fosters professional communication and the exchange of experience within school communities, and develops teachers’ ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.
