Learning Disabilities Remediation Program
This program targets teachers of Arabic language and mathematics in Omani schools (Cycle 1 and Cycle 2). Its aim is to equip them with specialized knowledge, essential skills, and positive attitudes towards students with learning disabilities in particular, and special education in general. This will enable them to fulfill the professional requirements of working with students with learning disabilities in a specialized and professional manner. The program empowers these students to play their roles in the teaching and learning process by adapting the teaching of basic skills to suit their specific academic and developmental difficulties. Furthermore, it aims to equip teachers with specialized competencies by exposing them to best teaching and learning practices, thus enabling them to independently improve their professional practices in the future.

Applicants wishing to enrol in the Institute’s strategic training programmes must meet the following requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
- Nominees must be members of the Ministry of Education's teaching staff.
- Applicants for the Mathematics Experts, Science Experts, Arabic Language Experts (Grades 1–4), Arabic Language Experts (Grades 5–12), English Language Experts, and Field Two Experts programmes must have at least three years' experience in their current position.
- Applicants for supervisory programmes must hold the relevant job title, or an official secondment decision, for one of the following: the Senior Teachers Programme (Senior Teacher, or secondment to that position); the Supervisory Experts Programme (Subject Supervisor or Senior Subject Supervisor, or secondment to either); or the School Leadership Programme (School Principal, Assistant School Principal, School Administration Supervisor, Senior School Administration Supervisor, School Performance Evaluation Supervisor, Senior School Performance Evaluation Supervisor, or secondment to one of these).
- Applicants for the Programme for New Teachers must be newly appointed teachers; enrolment is mandatory for all new appointees.
- An applicant's job title must match the target group specified for the relevant programme.
- Applicants may not be on full-time study leave for a Master's or Doctoral degree.
